WHAT WE BELIEVE

WE ARE A BIBLE-CENTERED CHURCH

The Bible is the authoritative Word of God. The Word of God in the bible alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible and inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice. Therefore, we use it for everything pertaining to existence and church life.

2 Timothy 3:14-4:2 | John 17:17 | Colossians 3:16 | Hebrews 4:12-13 | 2 Timothy 3:16

1 Corinthians 2:13 |  2 Peter 1:20-21

TRIUNE GOD

We believe that God has revealed Himself as the only true God, in three persons–Father, Son and Holy Spirit–each distinct, yet all of One essence - and divine being ( 1 John 5:7 ). Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died upon the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice and resurrected from the dead three days later. He ascended to heaven, sitting at the right hand

of the Father. He will come again to establish His kingdom, righteousness, and peace.

The Holy Spirit is a divine being, sent to indwell, guide, teach, empower the believer, and convict the world of sin and judgment. The Holy Spirit also convicts the believer of righteousness paid for by the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

THE MAN

The man was originally created in the image and likeness of God; he fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. All men have sinned and fell short of the glory of God, being separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ. The unrepentant and unbelieving will be in existence forever in conscious torment; and for the believer, in everlasting joy and bliss.

Genesis 1:27 | John 5:29 | Revelation 20:10 | Matthew 25:46 | Daniel 12:2 | 2 Thessalonians 1:9

SALVATION

All men has fallen short of the glory of God. The wages of sin is death. No amount of good works can lead us to eternal life. Salvation is obtained by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. There is no other salvation other than through Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God whom He sent here on earth and paid the penalty of our sins through the shedding of His blood on the cross as the ultimate, final and once and for all sacrifice for the sins of humanity. Salvation is obtained by grace and has been provided through faith in Jesus Christ, and those who repent and believe in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life, and become the children of God, the Body of Christ, the Church.

SANCTIFICATION

Sanctification is the ongoing process of yielding to God's Word and His Spirit to complete the development of Christ's character in us. It is through the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God that the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

Romans 6:6 | 1 Corinthians 6:11 | 2 Corinthians 5:17 | 2 Thessalonians 2:13 | Hebrews 10:10 | Galatians 2:20 | 1 Thessalonians 4:3 | 2 Peter 3:18

WATER BAPTISM

Water baptism is a beautiful picture of what our Lord has done for us. As we are completely immersed in the water, we symbolize burial with our Lord; we are baptized into His death on the cross and are no longer slaves to self or sin (Romans 6:3–7). When we are raised out of the water, we are symbolically resurrected—raised to new life in Christ to be with Him forever, born into the family of our loving God (Romans 8:16). Water baptism also illustrates the spiritual cleansing we experience when we are saved; just as water cleanses the flesh, so the Holy Spirit cleanses our hearts when we trust Christ.

Water baptism symbolizes the believer’s total trust in and total reliance on the Lord Jesus Christ, as well as a commitment to live obediently to Him. It also expresses unity with all the saints (Ephesians 2:19), that is, with every person in every nation on earth who is a member of the Body of Christ (Galatians 3:27–28).

We are baptized because our Lord commanded it: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19).

Christians should be baptized out of obedience to and love for our Lord Jesus (John 14:15). Water baptism by immersion is the biblical method of baptism because of its symbolic representation of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.

BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

Given at Pentecost, the baptism in the Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father, sent by Jesus after His Ascension, to empower the church to preach the Gospel throughout the whole earth. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is available to all believers and received by faith. The Holy Spirit is referred to as the “deposit,” “seal,” and “earnest” in the hearts of Christians (2 Corinthians 1:22; 5:5; Ephesians 1:13-14; 4:30). The Holy Spirit is God’s seal on His people, His claim on us as His very own.

FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW

We believe that we must love God with all of our heart, mind and soul. We must also love others the way we love ourselves. Love fulfills all the law.

Romans 13:8 | Matthew 22:37-40

HIS SECOND COMING

Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. His second coming will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures.

Revelation 22:12,20 | Revelation 1:7-8 | Revelation 3:11 | Acts 1:10-11 | Philippians 1:6 | Matthew 24:44
